Here at Karingal Green, we pride ourselves on a holistic approach to care, offering our residents world class facilities to support their health and wellbeing. At the forefront of this offering is Maryann Fabling, our Wellness Centre Manager who curates the activities and programs here in our beautiful home. We sat down with Maryann for a chat about her work here at Karingal and why she thinks our wellness offering is like none other.
As Allied Health and Wellness Manager of the Wellness Centre, Maryann is instrumental in the provision of expert care our residents receive. Her role involves “setting up a suite of both allied health and natural health services”. This unique combination of services is just one of the reasons both our Karingal residents, and members of the local community, experience such great care when they walk through our doors.
Maryann also believes in the incredible uniqueness of the wellness offering here and said “it can cater for all our clients’ needs by providing a truly wholistic service”. This truly wholistic service includes five consultation suites and the hydrotherapy pool which, combined with the fully- equipped gym and premier beauty salon, are on par with that which you “would find at any 5-star resort complex anywhere in the world”
Karingal Green residents benefit greatly from this offering as it’s “on their doorstep, giving them easy access… all with a discount that’s exclusive to extra service residents”. As Maryann highlights, wellness is so important to the elderly as it is “the concept of participating in and enjoying activities and lifestyle choices to attain better emotional, intellectual, spiritual, mental and physical health outcomes.” The betterment of quality of life is something we strive for here at Karingal so allowing our residents these improved outcomes through the Wellness Centre is something that brings us great joy.
Having worked in several aged care facilities throughout her career, Maryann instantly acknowledged Karingal was a leader in the field when she stepped into her role here. Looking to the future of aged care, Maryann says “the facilities on offer in the Wellness Centre here are the way of the future and I believe are the direction in which aged care facilities should be looking to achieve”. We are so pleased we have been able to create a home that offers not only residents, but our employees, incredible and forward-thinking facilities to both work in and enjoy.
